Three Shires Inn is a great base for exploring Little Langdale, Great Langdale and further afield in the Lake District. Many walks can start from our front door and appeal to walkers of all ages and ability.

Mountain biking downhill

The Three Shires Inn is perfectly located for cyclists and mountain bikers. Being on one of the Lake Districts toughest road routes and surrounded by challenging off-road terrain, there's something for everyone making the Three Shires Inn their base for a cycling holiday in the Lake District.

Slaters Bridge Little Langdale

Despite being a quiet hamlet today, Little Langdale was once at the centre of Lakeland Slate mining with the main attraction, 'Cathedral Cave', a relic of the human impact on the local landscape just a short walk from the Three Shires Inn.

Ravenglass roman house

Despite the isolated feel to our location, we're actually ideally placed to explore the southern end of the Lake District and the Cumbrian coast. There's history all around us, as well as world class, award winning attractions to make a fabulous day out, whatever the weather.
